Whether you’re looking for extra storage space, a designated work area or somewhere to entertain guests, here at Mintern we know there are many different specifications and requirements to consider when planning the construction of your new shed or garden building.
Creating a level base is very important to the longevity of any garden building. This allows any building style to fit together with ease and settle in unison. Our recommendation is to fit a concrete base wherever possible, but an alternative option for when this may not be feasible is a timber framework base and for smaller buildings, timber bearers can be fitted. Any style of base can be fitted to any required size and shape, allowing for a much wider choice of garden building or an unusual bespoke design.

Standard Sheds
We offer a vast range of standard pre-fabricated garden sheds in both apex and pent style roofs. Created using 38mm x 50mm timber framework, which is then clad with 12mm tongue and groove shiplap, they are a robust construction offering great value. The height of the building varies depending on the selection made. The roof is sealed using a heavy duty green mineral felt and finished with roof trims. These buildings have a choice of door and window positionings to suit the site location. The windows are fixed and glazed and the door comes complete with a key lock. Heavier duty options are also available if you are looking for something a little more robust.
Summerhouses
We also have a very diverse range of summer houses, each of which has a unique style and finish. The 38mm x 50mm framework offers great strength to take the 12mm cladding, all of which is pre treated. The range offers single or double doors, half or fully glazed. Windows can be fixed or opening depending on the building selection. All summerhouse doors come complete with a heavy duty key lock for added security and peace of mind. The roof can be sealed using a heavy duty green mineral felt or, as a more decorative finish felt shingles can be added. Summerhouses can be insulated and fully lined easily to extend the length of use each year.
Bespoke Buildings
A bespoke garden building is a great way to overcome any unusual size or shape area you are considering adding a building to, turning an unused space into something to be used and enjoyed.
The beauty of a bespoke building is that there are no limitations. Position and size of doors and windows can be fitted to suit any need. Doors can be solid, full or half glazed and come fitted with a heavy duty key lock for security and peace of mind. Windows can be fixed, opening or a mixture of the two, even double glazed.
A bespoke building is extremely strong and very long lasting. We construct our framework using pre-treated timbers and then clad this with pre-treated tongue and groove shiplap. Floor and roof joists are clad with pre-treated tongue and groove boarding, offering a very pleasing to the eye finish inside.
Your bespoke building can easily be fully insulated and lined for use as an outside office space, alternatively internal stud walls can be a great addition to divide the building up and create separate rooms. The roof can be sealed with a variety of finishes, heavy duty green mineral felt, felt shingles, EPDM rubber roofing, slates, tiles and many more to suit your aesthetics.
